Our Rotary club is service and friendship minded, and we have planned a great year of service and fellowship activities. We are casual, down to earth, and fun loving. We serve our community while enjoying each other’s company. One of our goals is to respect each other’s time, with each member doing what they can, when they can. 🌳 Branching Out for a Greener Future! 🌳
 
On April 12th, 2025, the Millcreek Rotary Club got their hands dirty (in the best way!) at a tree planting event. We teamed up with  the energetic City Academy Cheer Squad, enthusiastic Interactors, an awesome crew from Delta Airlines, and the Salt Lake Rotary Club.
Together, we planted Horse Chestnut trees—known for their big leafy branches and beautiful blooms. These trees are perfect for Salt Lake’s climate and will bring shade, beauty, and fresh air to our community for years to come! 🍃🌸
Tree planting isn’t just about digging in the dirt—it’s about investing in a healthier planet. Trees clean our air and water, fight climate change, and create homes for local wildlife. 🌎💚

Making an Impact at Valor House
In February 2025, seven Millcreek Rotary members and three guests dedicated their time to a meaningful service project at Valor House in Salt Lake City. We spent two hours painting two bedrooms, helping create a more welcoming space for veterans transitioning out of homelessness.

Valor House provides 72 single-room micro-apartments for veterans as they work toward permanent housing. It’s an incredible organization making a real difference!

Rotary William Penn afterschool party
In December of 2024, we had a fantastic holiday party for the Asian Association afterschool program at William Penn Elementary. City Academy students and teacher Lillian Scoville did a great job with the activities. Our club members provided gift bags and winter clothing that was distributed to parents after the festivities were over.
 
Our club provided $50 Walmart gift cards to each of the families and Holbrook HVAC bought 40+ coats for various family members.
 
We did a good thing with this party, making the season bright! Give yourselves a big hug for being great human beings.
House of Hope - Mothers Day Lunch
 
 
 
House of Hope, makes it their goal to serve as many women and children as they possibly can. They believe recovery is possible for anyone who wants it, regardless of the obstacles that may stand in the way. They help women to realize their potential and instill hope in them that they can recover.
 
This year, our House of Hope Mother’s Day project was a huge success!  We enjoyed great support from a number of club members.  We purchased and packaged special gifts for all of the mothers.  The House of Hope choir then honored us by singing two beautiful songs in thanks.  We were awed by the recovery story of one mother who shared her story of recovery and now works with the clients who are on their journey to recovery.  This is the eighth year we have done this project.

Community Resource Fair
In April 2024, the Millcreek Rotary Club supported the annual community resource fair at the Bud Bailey Apartment complex.  It was a collaborative effort of Millcreek Promise and Utah Housing Connect, along with many other community organizations.  Our team of 6 served chicken sandwiches with all the fixings and chips, which were supplied by the Millcreek Promise team.

Holiday Project Details
 
We're thrilled to invite you to our special holiday service project on Wednesday, December 6, from 5-7pm on the 6th floor of the new Millcreek City Hall. It's a time for joy, giving, and community! Please Contact Us by November 30th you would like to join. 
 
The service project will be a fun-filled evening with activities including ice skating, arts & crafts, and warm winter clothing distribution from 5:00-6:00 pm. Dinner and a performance by The Gifted Music School will follow at 6:00 pm, with gift distribution commencing at 6:45 pm.  Millcreek Rotary members are Volunteering by sponsoring families, ice skating with kids, and transporting presents as needed.
 
A huge thank you to our project partners: Millcreek Rotary, Millcreek Promise, Asian Association of Utah, City Academy, bioMerieux, and Youthlinc. Also, kudos to our party sponsors: Kroger, and Granite Credit Union!

Millcreek City Hall Grand Opening
Join us for a unique and festive evening on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Here's the scoop on what we've planned: 
 
Where the Fun Begins: We kick off at YouthLinc at 5:30 PM sharp. Let's mingle and savor some tasty bites for 15 minutes before we get down to business .
 
Agenda Highlights: Post-snacks, we'll swiftly move through our standard '4-way test' and key announcements. Judy Zone will then facilitate a final planning discussion about the essentials of our Holiday service project on December 6th 🎁.
 
The Main Event: Post-meeting, we're off to witness a landmark moment – the grand opening of the new Millcreek City Hall and UPD Millcreek Precinct 🎉. We'll wrap up early at YouthLinc to join the festivities.
 
Getting There: You're free to enjoy a leisurely walk from YouthLinc to City Hall if the weather smiles upon us . Alternatively, you can drive and park at Harmons Grocery Store's ample lot, or even better, team up for a carpool ride .
 
Celebration Timeline: The grand ceremony runs from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, capping off with a fabulous fireworks display 🎆. It's also a proud moment to support our very own Francis (Frank) Lilly, the man behind our strong alliance with the City.
 
This event isn't just a celebration; it's a symbol of our solidarity and community spirit. Your presence will make it all the more special 🤝.
